Version 1.1 will launch in mid-july, check devlogs for more info.

♠️ Description

Munel Championship is a card game where you play as Stella, a finalist in Munel's most important exam. Passing this test will qualify you as the perfect negotiator for Munel's next planet of interest: Earth.

♥️ How to Play

Your objective is simple: play rounds of poker where your goal is to get a four-of-a-kind and grab an anti-zap baton. If your opponents get their cards first, you'd better grab a baton before they run out.

Be the last one standing at the table and watch your opponents destroy their 120kg-limit chairs. The last person without an anti-zap baton loses a "zap". Lose 2 zaps, and you (or your opponent) will get blasted by the weight gain ray. Three hits and you're out.

🎵 Custom Music: Use the "Munel Grooves" folder to add any music you want if you don't like the default selection.

♦️ About

This is my very first game. I’ve been working on it for about 2 months, so any feedback, suggestions, or bug reports are highly appreciated.

This is version 1.0. The core game is completely finished, but I will continue to update it with more content as I see fit.

🃏✨ El juego también está disponible en español ✨🃏

♣️ What's Next?

  • I plan on adding new opponents to the game.
  • Add optional gimmicks to spice up the gameplay.

Along with this, I have a 4-game series planned that follows Stella's story as she progresses on her mission:

Tourney (We are here) ➔ Trip/Travel ➔ Arrival ➔ Stay/Activities

Every single entry will be a completely different game with unique core gameplay and characters, so please consider supporting development.

Very nicely done game, my only complaints about the game would be the game's length, its to be expected that its not a few minute long game, but a lot of time gets thrown away with the start of the game due to 4 others drawing cards. My fix for this would be adding an option to increase opponent drawing speed in the settings.

My other complaint is just them not being big enough! lol

Thanks for the feedback! I'll add the speed option in the next update, as for the art, i'm trying to improve my limits little by little, so i hope that with each new character i can show the improvements i'm aiming for.

It's a well made game, easy to understand, and the pixel art looks great! My only critique (and it is a nitpick at most) is that it's hard to see any changes after someone is zapped the first two times. I just wish the zaps had more weight to them (pun intended)

Otherwise this is pretty good and I can't wait to see what you add to it!

Thanks for the feedback! i'll try to improve how i distribute the weight between stages so every stage feels more impactful.

When I get 4 of a kind, there's a delay for when I can grab the baton. (I click, but during the animation, I can't click.)  This is not the case for the computer players.  I had 4 of a kind, but the computer player grabbed before I could.

Also, I played 6 rounds.  Only one person got zapped in that whole time.  Your baton math is off somehow.

Sorry, i forgot to mention in the instructions that you can only grab a baton at the start of your turn. As for the timers, that is part of an anti-frustration mechanic that increases the opponents minimum and maximum response time after you've already won a 1v1 against them. This is to prevent an RNG fest to get the achievements (times get back to normal ranges after you get them all), but i might have overtuned it too much. I will fix this in my next update.
